My attitude is a reflection of my faith...

Good morning! I haven't blogged in a while so I thought this morning would be a great time to start again!! I wanted to talk a little about our attitudes this morning.

Have you ever slipped into a funk and found yourself saying or doing hurtful things to people? Sometimes we end up hurting people who had absolutely nothing to do with what got us upset in the first place! It is a whole lot easier to throw a pity party than it is to pick up after one. And that's a fact!!

Proverbs 4:23 tells us to guard our heart with all vigilance. We need to learn to monitor our thoughts, actions, imaginations, motives, and take our offenses to God. We need to all work on humbling ourselves daily and making Jesus our main focus. When we do this, He'll fill us with peace and give us a willingness to treat others with unconditional love and respect.

It's so easy to get your feathers ruffled and spit out angry words at people, rather than showing them love. I know you hear this all the time, but LIFE IS SO SHORT!! Why walk around with a chip on your shoulder and showing  anger and bitterness and hatred all the time?! Change your attitude and you'll be amazed at the difference it'll make in your life.

And it is true...OUR ATTITUDES ARE A REFLECTION OF OUR FAITH!

I take the Lord's yoke upon me and learn from Him, for He is gentle and humble in heart, and I find rest for my soul. His yoke is easy and His burden is light. -- Matthew 11:29, 30

I show my love for God by obeying His commandments, and they are not hard to follow. --1 John 5:3

I am always joyful. I pray continually and give thanks in all circumstances, for it is God's will for me in Christ Jesus. --1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

I am never disappointed because I trust God. --Isaiah 49:23

I humble myself before the Lord, and He lifts me up. --James 4:10

For some, changing your attitude may be difficult, but with God's help it can be done! Pray to Him today, surrendering your pride to Him and asking Him to change your negative ways. Ask Him to give you the faith to forgive others and to be content in every single circumstance. God is able to change our circumstances at any time. We don't have to live in the same old-same old. And if the Lord doesn't change your circumstance right away, keep on trusting and still keep on serving Him. Do not give up.  It is all in His timing.

We have been trying to sell our house for quite some time now, but God knows when the perfect time is for that and in the meantime, I will keep trusting Him and serving Him and obeying Him and He will make it all happen in HIS TIME! I will not worry. I will keep a positive attitude.

** I challenge you today, including myself, to live with an attitude that glorifies God and to keep your heart humble and my your focused.

Have a great day and show a smile or two or three today:)
